Fliptastick Cheerleading a Lesson for Snowboarders?

By on October 1, 2013 in Awesome, Freeskiing, Snowboarding with 0 Comments

CheerleadingWith all the spin-to-win and double cork craziness that exists in professional snowboarding (and freeskiing)  now, it’s no wonder that competitive riders need to have gymnastic-level athleticism. And while gymnastics is an Olympic sport unto itself, snowboarders searching for cross-training activities to prepare for Sochi, may want to take a look at the sidelines of college football games this season for inspiration on air awareness and sticking landings, particularly among the women. It would be interesting to take the top 20 “competitive” cheerleaders at American universities, send them to High Cascade or Windells for a summer, then watch them compete at the Dew Tour. We might just see some progression.
