Snowboarding

Burton Snowboards Talks Sustainability

If your product relies on cutting down trees and then pouring petroleum-based products over them before sliding down dwindling snow-covered peaks, you better get ahead of it….

Current CEO of Burton, Donna Carpenter, talks “sustainability.”

At Burton, we have a responsibility to the sport we pioneered – and to the people and environment that sustain it. We are committed to fostering sustainable practices and improving our process from the ground up. We’re incorporating more responsible materials like FSC™ certified board cores and recycled materials into our product lines, streamlining and auditing our supply chain and packaging for less impact and maximum efficiency, and reducing energy use and waste in our global offices. As well as supporting activism through industry-level organizations like POW and grassroots community involvement in our own backyards. Some changes are big, some are small, but along every step of the way, we’re striving to do better—because winter is more than a resource, it’s a way of life.
