Inside the 2015 Monster Energy Cup: Chasing the Dream – Xtra

Chasing the Dream – Xtra is a web based series culled from the acclaimed Chasing the Dream television program and the thirteenth webisode features the who’s who of Monster Energy Supercross’ elite as they battle for the title of the 2015 Monster Energy Cup Championship and the chance to win the largest purse in motorcycle racing.

Every October, a massive hybrid track is built at Sam Boyd Stadium and it brings out the best in riders from all three classes (Cup pro class, Amateur All-Stars, Superminis). Unique to Monster Energy Cup, the night kicks off with not heat races and not qualifiers, but with three 10-Lap Main Events. To win the coveted $1 million prize, riders must sweep all three Main Events.

In this webisode, Rockstar Energy/Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson gets the checkered flag in the first Main Event but failed to take the Joker Lane (a slower section of the track that every rider must take at least once after the first lap), handing the win to RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy John’s/Factory Suzuki’s Ken Roczen by default. In Main Event 2, Anderson won the race with Canard in second and Barcia in third place but ultimately taking the massive million dollar payout off the table. Roczen dominated Main Event 3, crowning Roczen as the 2015 Monster Energy Cup Champion.
