Watch Terrifying Moment French Tourists Are Swept Out to Sea

Three french tourists end up having a really bad day when they get swept out to see in the middle of the winter near the coastal town of Cote De Portsall in northern France (skip to 2:10 mark). Reports are that all made it out alive and were hospitalized. Just goes to show the power of the ocean for the unsuspecting. Just ask Kelly Slater, who saved a mother and toddler from a rogue wave in Hawaii last month.

Be careful out there people!

Here’s the recap:

February 2016 at 17 hours, a wave surprised a couple walk on the beach Retired Porsguen in Portsall, in Finistère, in spite of the storm that hit the coast of Brittany. The wave first swept away a man aged 75 and his wife of 76 years was swept away in turn by a second wave in wanting to help her husband. They were eventually rescued by a Parisian who rents a house in Landéda for the winter, in the company of a friend. A third man has also come lend a hand. This is Eric Roudaut, 42, a mechanic from Lannilis, a small town located near Portsall. The retired couple was taken to the hospital of La Cavale Blanche in Brest. The husband and wife are fine.
