Frendly Gathering Moving to Sugarbush Resort, Vermont

Frendly Gathering

Seventh Annual Music Festival Moves its Home to Sugarbush Resort, Vermont, June 29-July 1 | Initial Music Lineup Announced

Frendly Gathering Music Festival, produced by professional snowboarder Danny Davis and television personality Jack Mitrani, announced that it is moving its Vermont home a bit north and will be held this summer at Sugarbush Resort from June 29 – July 1, and has also announced its initial music lineup. Sugarbush, one of New England’s largest ski areas featuring two unique mountains, is part of the Mad River Valley and is conveniently located 50 minutes from Burlington, Vt.

Frendly Gathering will be held at Sugarbush’s Mt. Ellen base area. Separated from the Lincoln Peak base area by several miles, the Mt. Ellen base area will provide the festival with an intimate feel. The new location will offer several enhancements to the Frendly Gathering experience including an on-site box office, additional activities for festival goers, car camping, lodging and a fresh new event layout. Special discounts to Frendly ticket holders will be offered for Sugarbush’s summer activities at Lincoln Peak including mountain biking, golf, disc golf and more.

Heralded as one of New England’s premier music and camping festivals, Frendly Gathering features three days of live music with a lineup for all genres of music fans. Continuing its headliner status since Frendly’s inception is Twiddle, the Vermont-based jam band who plays throughout the weekend on various stages. Frendly Gathering is set to showcase 20+ musical acts to play on unique stages throughout the festival grounds. The festival not only incorporates music, but also camping, art, yoga, local food, skateboarding, dance workshops, inspiration and of course “Frendship.”

“It’s hard to say goodbye to Timber Ridge and we truly appreciate the support we had in southern Vermont, but we are excited about the new opportunities that Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley have to offer Frendly,” said co-founder Jack Mitrani. “What’s important to note is that the intimate atmosphere we have always had will remain. Sugarbush has an amazing team that is just as amped about the festival as we are. Our lineup is already looking great and the activities we can bring to the weekend’s agenda will be leave you inspired and renewed. We’re so excited for the future of Frendly.”

“We are looking forward to working with Frendly Gathering to host a multi-day cultural event that suits Sugarbush and the Mad River Valley,” commented Win Smith, president and majority owner of Sugarbush. “Frendly Gathering is known to attract a fun-loving crowd of music lovers who are respectful of their surrounding environment. Mt. Ellen will provide a beautiful landscape for the festival, allowing participants opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and exploring the Mad River Valley’s many offerings.”

Making the festival possible are Jack Mitrani and Danny Davis, alongside a large Frendly crew that share the same passion for music, the outdoors, the environment and the ideals of bringing “Frendship” to the masses with their motto being “there is no ‘I’ in Frends.” In 2010, they brought their favorite bands, both known and unknown, to one venue in a frendly and intimate festival setting in California, which became the inaugural Frendly Gathering. For the past six years, Frendly has been in Southern Vermont at Timber Ridge. Event organizers work to keep the festival as intimate as its inception by capping ticket sales, ensuring short lines, easy access to the stages and a frendly family-like atmosphere.
