Etnies + Element Collab Celebrates “Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree” Program
In 2011 Etnies launched the “Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree” program in the Costa Rican rain forest. The concept: for every Jameson Bloodline shoe that is purchased, Etnies plants a tree…simple. It’s a bitchin’ environmental effort.
Now, Etnies is partnering with Element on a kick ass collab to keep the environmental skate wheel rolling forward. Check out the release below.
Happy Earth Day!
ETNIES X ELEMENT CELEBRATE EARTH DAY WITH A COLLABORATIVE COLLECTION
Today, etnies is proud to celebrate Earth Day with like-minded, environmentally conscious friends at Element by launching a collaboration collection. The collection includes a 14-piece capsule from the Jameson Bloodline featuring common riders Nick Garcia and Julian Davidson. Five years ago, the first tree from the etnies “Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree” reforestation project was planted. It began with one. It started with you. One seedling, one tree, expanding to a forest. One million trees later, across three continents, the “Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree” reforestation project is Built By Skateboarding. Check out Nick and Julian celebrating the launch of the etnies x Element collaboration by cruising through the redwoods above.

Julian Davidson’s Two Intertwined Snakes Elementality Symbol Decorates this Jameson Bloodline
The collaboration highlights Julian and Nick’s Elementality symbol featured throughout decks, apparel and footwear: two intertwined snakes and a two-headed wolf. From a highly technical shoe such as the Jameson E-Lite, to the lightweight daily chiller Jameson SC, to a stealth black bomber jacket, each piece in the collaboration reflects earth tones and includes subtle collaborative decorative details.
Like-Minded Brand Leaders
Between etnies Owner and CEO, Pierre Andre-Senizergues and Element founder, Johnny Schillereff, the two environmentally conscious individuals have built brands with the planet’s sustainability as a top priority. With more than 700 solar panels powering headquarters worldwide, to retrofitting lighting to reduce energy usage by utilizing the lowest amount of mercury per lumen lighting, etnies and Element continue to challenge the standard. etnies is committed to being carbon neutral by 2020, and the Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree program is one of many steps the company has taken toward sustainability.
