Mountain Biking to a Remote Hut in Alaska Wilderness | Backcountry Hut: Part 1
The first option in the dictionary for the word adventure is “an exciting or very unusual experience.” While the experience that is adventure varies far and wide from person to person, Eric Porter and Kevin Murphy’s recent travels in Alaska hit that definition on the nose.
After spotting a backcountry hut in an Alaskan guidebook, Porter began making plans to find the epic location the only way he knows how — by bicycle. The challenge? Located in the middle of nowhere, the trails to get to the remote hut have been growing over for years. “It’s like everything is trying to hurt you,” Porter explain. “It’s just miles of pushing and dragging your bike.”
