Kelvin Hoefler Wins Skate Street Final at Dew Tour LA

The action continued at the Dew Tour Los Angeles with the Skate Street Final at the Ace Hotel, with Kelvin Hoefler taking his second straight win after a victory in Chicago this June. His strong performance in the first two sections earned him a spot in the final jam, where he impressed the crowd and judges with a range of tricks in the first 45 seconds.
 
“The crowd was amazing today, and this is my home, so I really had to focus and skate hard to make it to the final section,” said Hoefler. “I feel so blessed to have won a second Dew Tour – all the guys were killing it today.”
 
The fast-paced competition had a rotation of leaders throughout the sections, but Hoefler’s half cab 180 out, cab back tail down the big hubba, kickflip back tail down the hubba and cab back lip up the down rail contributed to his overall score of 92.33. In the end, Louie Lopez and Shane O’Neill used their consistency to join Hoefler on the podium, with scores of 87.83 and 86.67, respectively.
 
The 2015 Dew Tour continues Sunday with Skateboard Streetstyle, taking place on Broadway St. between 1st. and Temple St., and will culminate December 10-14 at Breckenridge Ski Resort with a snowboard and freeski event.
