Kelvin Hoefler Wins Skateboard Streetstyle Final at Dew Tour LA

Under the blazing Los Angeles sun, 15 of the world’s best skateboarders took to the Dew Tour’s streetstyle course for the final day of competitions.

Coming off of a win in Saturday’s Street Final, Kelvin Hoefler continued the momentum over on Broadway St., taking the win over Trevor Colden in second place and Ryan Decenzo in third with a run that included a back flip, back nose blunt on the rail, backslide 50, and a kickflip front 50. Hoefler took the win with his first run, earning an 88.25, with Colden scoring an 86.50 and Decenzo scoring an 86.25.

“This course is really amazing,” said Hoefler. “Ryan Sheckler was the last guy to skate, so I wasn’t sure if he was going to come and take first place. I can’t believe I won in the end. I’m so stoked.”

Created three years ago, the Dew Tour’s unique streetstyle discipline challenged the skaters down to the very last runs, with Colden sliding into second place with the second to last run of the competition. Sheckler, who has won the streetstyle competition three times, finished in sixth place, but put on a show for the crowd as he attempted to land a kick flip off the shipping container eight times following the contest.

Over the course of the three day event, approximately 15,000 people experienced the Dew Tour Los Angeles. The 2015 Dew Tour will culminate December 10-14 at Breckenridge Ski Resort for a snowboard and freeski event.
