Amateur Snowboarding in a Polar Vortex at Burton Qualifiers Stop 1: Wisconsin
Stop 1 of the Burton Qualifiers amateur snowboarding tour just wrapped up amidst a polar vortex in the rural farmlands of Wisconsin, where our host, Ethan Deiss, was born and raised. The snowboard scene is strong in America’s Dairyland, especially at small resorts like Trollhaugen. With a chance at scoring some of the Burton Qualifiers tour’s $20k prize purse, riders came out and lapped so hard they broke a sweat despite the sub-zero temps. When the snow settled, cash prizes were dolled out to the top three in both the Open and 15 & Under divisions. For full tour info and results, head to BurtonQualifiers.com.
Burton Qualifiers is a 6-stop snowboard tour making its way through North America. Winners at each regional event take home cash prizes, bragging rights, and are entered to compete in the finals at Seven Springs, Pennsylvania.
