Danny Davis Can Still Afford Not to Get a Haircut – Reups With Burton
Pro snowboarder Danny Davis, who hasn’t really been on a role since he hurt his back in 2010 just prior to the Vancouver Games, continued his longstanding deal with Burton it was announced today. The almost-Olympian / “easy livin” co-designer / uber Frend will now be rocking B by Burton from head-to-toe for the foreseeable future. That means plenty more pay days, pow turns, Mountain Dews, and no need to shave or put on a suit and tie. Unless he’s going before Washington. On the news Davis reacted: “I’m really excited to continue making cool shit with Burton.”
Here’s the release and some Danny Davis snow porn.
Burton Snowboards is thrilled to announce that long-time Burton rider Danny Davis is now a head-to-toe Burton athlete with a new deal that includes outerwear, apparel and hardgoods.
“Danny has been a part of the Burton family for almost a decade now, and I couldn’t be happier to have him represent Burton head to toe, all year long,” said Jake Burton, Founder & CEO of Burton Snowboards. “Danny’s talent, style and personality comes through in everything he does – whether it’s watching him ride at a contest or seeing his latest video part. He truly represents what Burton and the snowboard lifestyle is all about.”
A Burton sponsored rider since 2004, Danny always has a new jam up his sleeve and is no stranger to evolution. Graduating from the flat and icy hills of Michigan to shredding as a Tahoe local, Danny has left his mark on the contest circuit and film projects around the world. Effortlessly mixing up his choice of terrain, Danny transitioned from major competition wins and Rookie of the Year awards, to stomping backcountry rotations in Absinthe films, along with appearances in ‘The Art of Flight’ and Burton’s ‘13’. Last season, Danny spearheaded an experimental pipe/park hybrid video project with Mountain Dew and Burton called Peace Pipe, and will follow it up with the video release of ‘Peace Park’ coming out this December. Later this month, keep an eye out for Danny’s part in the new Burton Presents – RESORT [Snowboarding] video, releasing on October 25th.
On the product front, Danny’s creative vision can be seen in his 2014 Burton Easy Livin board design, which features authentic Jimi Hendrix photographs and artwork and is now available exclusively at select Burton authorized retailers. Danny also plays a pivotal role in supporting Burton’s Green Mountain Process, which features fabric made from recycled plastic bottles and includes Danny’s favorite outerwear and apparel styles like the Burton Squire Jacket, the 2L Gore-Tex® Murdoc Pant and the Classic Mountain Pullover Hoodie.
“I have ridden for Burton my whole career, and there is no other place I would rather be,” said Danny. “Burton’s support and product is like no other, and I’m really excited to continue making cool shit with Burton.”
This weekend, Danny will celebrate the next chapter with Burton at the annual Fall Bash, hosted by Burton owners Jake and Donna Carpenter.
