LA’s Mt. Baldy Claims Lives of 2 Hikers in the Last Week
Last Monday we headed up to Baldy to hopefully score one of those rare, SoCal pow days as it had rained heavily in LA on Sunday. Arriving to Baldy at 8am we were informed that the lifts wouldn’t open until after Noon because the snow/freeze level was too low and the lifts were basically frozen. Turns out that frozen surface has since claimed 2 lives and trapped over 20 more hikers at Baldy in the last week.
If you’re going to head up to the mountains, please get educated or at least bring someone that knows what their doing.
