Teahupoo Goes Code Orange in July 2015

Teahupoo, Tahiti is known for super gnarly waves. It’s barreling left sucks off dry reef “at the end of the road” and has produced some of the most stunning rides and stunning photos in surfing history. Every so often, though, a swell comes along that exceeds expectations. This was one of those swells. Locals and traveling pros alike made a strike mission to Chopes to catch a few of the best waves on the planet, including one wipeout so horrific it made headlines around the world.
